Luxembourg

Luxembourg Overview

Luxembourg is one of Europe’s oldest and smallest independent countries. The country lies in northwestern Europe where Germany, France, and Belgium meet.

Perched high on a plateau carved by the confluence of the Pétrusse and Alzette rivers, overlooking the maze of bridges that joins the old town to the banking districts, you can understand how Luxembourg city earned itself the nickname, the ‘Gibraltar of the North’.

CLIMATE

Most of Luxembourg has a cool, moist climate. The average temperature in the city of Luxembourg is about 32 °F (0 °C) in January and about 63 °F (17 °C) in July. Most snowfalls occur high in the Ardennes.
