Sweden Climate
Sweden has a temperate climate, with four distinct seasons. Summers (June to August) are mild, with temperatures ranging from 59°F to 77°F (15°C to 25°C), making this the best time to visit for outdoor activities and long daylight hours. Winters (December to February) are cold, especially in the north, with temperatures dropping to 5°F (-15°C) or lower, but it’s great for winter sports like skiing.
Spring (March to May) brings blossoming flowers and temperatures between 41°F to 59°F (5°C to 15°C). Autumn (September to November) is cool and crisp, with vibrant fall colours and temperatures from 50°F to 59°F (10°C to 15°C).
Safety advice for Sweden
For the vast majority of travellers visiting Sweden, their visits are trouble-free. Crime levels are low although there is some petty crime. Violent crime does occur; instances of gang-related crime, including shootings and explosions, have been reported in Malmö and Gothenburg.
Pickpocketing can be a problem in the major cities where tourists are targeted for passports and cash.
Terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks across the country. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners.
