Laos Climate
Laos experiences a tropical climate with a distinct rainy and dry season. The rainy season runs from May to October, bringing heavy showers and high humidity, while the dry season lasts from November to April. During the dry season, temperatures are pleasantly warm, ranging from 68°F to 86°F (68°C to 86°C), making it the best time to visit.
In contrast, the rainy season sees temperatures between 77°F and 95°F (25°C to 35°C), but with frequent rainfall. For optimal travel conditions, plan your visit between November and April when the weather is more comfortable and ideal for exploring.
Safety advice for Laos

Petty crime, including bag snatching, occurs frequently, especially in tourist areas, take sensible precautions to protect your possessions.
Don’t leave your passport as a deposit or guarantee when hiring motorcycles. There have been reports of scams where rental companies have arranged for rented motorcycles to be deliberately stolen or damaged resulting in the retention of the passport and payment of a heavy fine.
Although there’s no recent history of terrorism, attacks can’t be ruled out. You should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks which could be in public areas, including those frequented by foreign travellers.
