Wearing camouflage printed clothing is banned.
SAMOA
Avoid walking or driving through village during evening prayers. Which are held between 6pm and 7pm. Also swimming is not allowed on Sundays.
SAUDI ARABIA
Strict fundamentalist Muslim laws apply. Men and women are both segregated and unaccompanied women are restricted on what they can do on there own. Alcohol is forbidden and dress codes will be enforced by the police or officials.
SENEGAL
It is polite to introduce yourself to the head man or school teacher if you visit a village.
SERBIA
Serbians rarely say please and thank you, but is appreciated when visitors do. When having a drink, it is usual to clink glasses but keep eye contact when doing so.
SINGAPORE
Singapore is one of the cleanest cities in the world which why you may find chewing is banned. Also dropping litter, spitting and failing to flush a public toilet can incur an on-the-spot fine.
SUDAN
Sudan is a strict Muslim country and women tend not to be treated with much respect. Western women are not obliged to wear the full cover veil.
SWAZILAND
If you are staying in a village you must get the permission of the chief before doing so. There is a great traditional tribal culture.
SYRIA
Muslim customs apply. You will find the people are friendly and hospitable and women are respected even if you are travelling alone.
