BETTER known for being the birthplace of Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is an elegant town set on the banks of the river avon

Everything about Stratford is geared towards Shakespeare, the 14 arched medieval stone bridge is still, as it has been since Shakespeare's day and is the main gateway into Stratford.

Preserved by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, you are still able to see the house in Henley Street, where the Bard was born. Although the house he brought after becoming successful was destroyed by its owner in the 18th century. The foundations remain, however an Elizabethan knot garden has been planted on the site.

Whether or not you're interested in Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon, with a quite nightlife, is a destination that shouldn't be overlooked.
