DIVIDED by the river thames, London is by far Europe's largest cosmopolitan city, offering a diverse and accommodating lifestyle. A good way to view the city, is to take a ride on one of the many pleasure boats down the thames, where you can take in sights such as the Tower of London, Westminster, and the London Eye.
If shopping is your thing, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street and Knightsbridge are London's traditional shopping areas, although sampling the weekend markets of Portobello Road, Camden and Petticoat Lane shouldn't go unmissed.
If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city for an hour or two, head for one of the royal parks. Known as the 'lungs of the capital', they offer a great place just to sit and relax and watch the world go by.
With many world class museums and art galleries, London has plenty to offer and after a hard days shopping or sightseeing why not experience London's nightlife. Whether you're into dancing, opera, the theatre or good food, you will find London has something to suit everyone's tastes.
If you are looking for a hotel, hostel or want some ideas for a day out you can easily do so by clicking on the links above. The directory will show you what restaurants, nightclubs, theatres etc can be found in the local area, as well as car hire companies and local taxi firms.
