WITH its natural asset of a beautiful sandy beach, Blackpool offers no apology for its tawdry facade.

Dominated by its own mini 'Eiffel Tower' Blackpool's promenade stretches for seven miles which is broken up by three piers. At the heart of the promenade is the 'Golden Mile', where you will find a bewildering array of novelty shops, ice cream and food vendors, as well as Blackpool pleasure beach. A 40 acre amusement park offering up-to-the-minute rollercoaster rides.

If you decayed want to get out of town for the day. Blackpool is ideally situated to explore the Forest of Bowland or the windmill dotted landscape of Fylde.

Although very busy during the summer months, the Blackpool illuminations take place from September to November and maybe enjoyed more with less visitors around.

If you are looking for a hotel, hostel or want some ideas for a day out you can easily do so by clicking on the links above. The directory will show you what restaurants, nightclubs, theatres etc can be found in the local area, as well as car hire companies and local taxi firms.
